Building Solid Foundations’ Board of Directors includes individuals with extensive knowledge of Apam, Ghana. Many Board Members have travelled to Ghana as part of our humanitarian teams. Their combined knowledge and the relationships they have forged with residents of Apam and staff of St. Luke’s Hospital ensure respect for local customs and sentiments

Clyde Strang, MD
Chair
Dr. Clyde Strang, MD, a Urology Specialist in York, PA has over 43 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from University Of Maryland School Of Medicine medical school in 1977. Dr. Strang has travelled with the Building Solid Foundations’ medical team five times and has also participated in several humanitarian trips to Nigeria.
Marsha Bornt, MD
Vice Chair
Owner and practicing gynecologist at Apple Hill GYN, York, PA.
Dr. Bornt has participated in multiple surgical missions in more
than 10 countries including Ghana. Dr. Bornt is a seasoned
non-profit leader, having served as a board member for
numerous organizations in York, PA.
Arthur J. Full, CPA
Treasurer
Art is a partner in Baker Tilly Virchow Kruase, LLP’s York, Pennsylvania office with 30 years of accounting experience. His responsibilities include planning, supervising and completing compilation, review and audit engagements, Art provides tax, accounting and consulting services primarily to closely held businesses and their owners across various industries.

Vernon Bracey
Vice-President of Customer Service at the York Water Company. Vernon brings extensive experience in Customer Relations and Utility Operations to BSF. He is actively involved in several not-for-profit organizations in the York area.
Rosie Johnson, RN,BSN
A graduate of Marymount University in Arlington, VA, Johnson has worked in many different areas of nursing
including step down Cardiac ICU, Pediatrics, Homecare, and Surgical Oncology. She is currently a PRN nurse
at Orthopedic and Spine Specialists in their Ambulator Surgical and Pain Centers. An Air Force “brat,” Johnson
as traveled extensively. She has lived in nine different states and three countries. In her spare time, Johnson
enjoys skiing and scuba diving with family. She has traveled to Ghana three times and is looking forward to many
additional trips.
Richard Kurz, Sr. MD
An Internist in York, PA, Dr. Kurz shares his skills and talents in Apam, Ghana each year. He and his wife, Susan, are the parents of three missionary sons. Dr. Kurz loves, “…the Building Solid Foundations group, the opportunity to bring home more than I took, and effortlessly feeling God’s presence there, where it is least expected.”
Grace T Quartey, CPA, MBA
Co-Founder and Executive Director
Owner of Grace & Associates, CPA, MBA. Mrs. Quartey’s practice provides small business consulting and tax planning for individuals, small business, and non-profit organizations in York, PA. Born in Accra, Ghana and a resident of the United States since 1986, Mrs. Quartey is an active community volunteer.
Seth Mac Quartey, MD
Co-Founder
Infectious Disease Specialist and Internal Medicine, WellSpan Health/York Hospital, York, PA. Dr. Quartey was born in Accra, Ghana and has lived in the US since 1981.
Scott Williams, MD 
Scott Williams, MD is an Emergency Medicine Physician at Wellspan
York Hospital Emergency Department, York, PA and has traveled to
Apam with Building Solid Foundations several times.
All board members volunteer their time to the organization and receive no remuneration; all have equal voting power.
